The Price of Valor by Susan May Warren (review

If you are up for a tsunami of a story, The Price of Valor by Susan May Warren should be on your TBR. Third in the Global Search and Rescue series, this is Hamilton and Signe’s reunion story with a good dose of Orion and Jenny along with other characters from Warren’s world of former SEALs and their adventures.

“God doesn’t write tragedies. He’s all about the happy ending. We just have to stick with him through the story, right?” (pg.165)

This is a story filled with high stakes, as Ham learns that he has been a father for ten years and that his wife, believed dead, had been imbedded in a Chechnyan terrorist camp. Complicated does not begin to describe the tangle of this story of political intrigue, physical danger, and the challenges of keeping family safe and trusting enough to build relationships in difficult situations.

Best experienced in order, this is a dynamite end to a suspense filled trilogy.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

A high-octane mix of love and adventure

Kidnapped by rebels while serving as a humanitarian aid worker in Chechnya, Signe Kincaid has spent the past decade secreting out valuable information about Russian assets in the US to her CIA handler. Fearing for her daughter after being discovered as an operative, Signe sends her to former Navy SEAL Hamilton Jones for safekeeping. Signe is ready to give her life for her country, and she can hardly expect Ham to rescue her after breaking his heart over and over.

Hamilton Jones has never forgotten the only woman he loved–and he can’t believe after all these years she’s shown up alive. But can he forgive her for her secrets? And, when Ham discovers the reason Signe has kept her distance, he must choose between love for her and love for the nation he has vowed to protect.

Will he save the many? Or the few? And what is the price of valor?
